Resume writing help

Resume writing help

I have been searching for a job for a few months now with no success. I understand that it's a tough job market but think I could use some help in revamping my resume to better convey my experience and accomplishments. While I don't discount the work that resume writers do, it's just not in my budget to spend on a career coach/resume writer at the moment. I'm currently on unemployment and that money needs to go to bills and living expenses for my family. With that being said, can anyone recommend a free resume writing service/assistant (preferably not AI)? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Check out their alumni site if you attended college or a trade school. It usually has a career center with resume review tools and (live) job coaches that are either free or reasonably priced.

You get what you pay for. Unless your resume is an absolute disaster, free services will not improve your situation. Put it on a credit card if you must.

Two websites with free services and videos that have helped me immeasurably are Andy LaCivita's and Ken Coleman's. See if some of their recommendations help. Also, I have seen some good information on this Fairygodboss website.

The main idea is that you need to convey your value to a company in about six seconds - so concentrate first of all on having a well-written summary. Also read the job description and put yourself in the place of the hiring manager. What is most important to this person in fulfilling this position? (Kind of think - "You want, I have"). Be sure to cite accomplishments that add monetary value, efficiency, outreach, or otherwise to the company. The websites referenced above will give you ideas on how to expand on this, with concrete examples and ideas on how to handle some of the more problematic aspects of writing a resume. Wishing you well!

The CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) CAS-005 exam is a performance-based certification designed to validate the skills of experienced cybersecurity professionals. The exam questions go beyond simple knowledge recall and are heavily focused on real-world, scenario-based challenges. You can expect questions that require you to analyze a situation and recommend the most effective security solution.
