I'm doing a career pivot into the Accounting field. I have a Bachelor's degree, but never used it, so now, I'm looking for 'entry-level' accounting/bookkeeping opportunities to get my feet wet. I'm currently taking courses to refresh my understanding of some accounting topics, and training to learn and master Quickbooks, both online and desktop versions. Should I put this on my resume even though I've had no experience with QB besides training?

Accounting manager here (also a CPA). Yes, put your training on your resume. Also brush up on Excel skills if you don't have them already (learn pivot tables, vlookup, xlookup, sumifs, if, ifs formula's... you can use youtube to learn for free).

If you learn/already know the Excel functions I listed above put that on your resume too.

Other basic areas to brush up on is understanding what prepaid expenses/deferred revenue are and the difference between income statement (P&L) and Balance Sheet accounts. This means understanding the the income statement is revenue/expenses. For the income statement, revenue has a credit balance, expenses have a debit balance. For the Balance Sheet, assets have a debit balance, liabilities have a credit balance.

I don't have accounting background but wanted to offer up additional support. Any skills you're learning, drop it on your resume.

Excited for your career pivot! Good luck.
