Ideas of How To Proceed

I have a friendly but unhelpful colleague with whom I keep ending up on projects. It's not really an option for me to not work with this person, so I'm looking for a way to maneuver around them.

They have been at the company longer than I have but are in a junior role and report to our shared boss, not me. This colleague has tried to tell me somewhat illogical things like

that I need to get IT involved for minor matters like connecting a laptop to a screen for a meeting (all it required was plugging the HDMI cable into the dongle on my laptop-mischief managed. No need for tech support). Moreover, I hadn't asked for his insight into this since I was familiar with the meeting room and knew this was the case.

We've had meetings with vendors about bringing new products in-house, meetings that I think are often straightforward, but this person insists on having debriefs about these matters often several days after the fact, which means that we have to push out any following meetings to accommodate these check-ins. In short, I feel like this person likes to waste a lot of time, while I prefer to accomplish things quickly. What are your suggestions on how to manage this?

Did you debrief after the meeting with the vendor? If so, decline another meeting, stating you have other conflicts, and ask what has changed since the original debrief, or ask to save it for when you meet to choose which vendor to select.
