HI, I took a job with a company, 2 months in the job found out a lot of issues at the workplace and the job is not as it was described to me, I decided to quit but I do not have another job lined up. Question, shall I quit in so I do not have to list on my resume? or stay on since its paying until I find the next role? I will look bad if I leave a job after 7-8 months? but if I quit now, I will continue to show unemployment status until I find a good one, what shall I do?

Hi! If I understand correctly, this job simply isn't what you expected based on what you understood during the interview process, and that's why you want to leave/quit. If that's the case, why not continue to pull a salary while looking for a new job? You will avoid a gap on your resume and will have income while you look. After all, it may take time to find another job. If it were me - and of course I don't have all the information here - I would keep the job while I continued to look for a new one.

Thank you very much for your feedback! The big issue it will take me further away from my ideal industry and work by showing the experience, if I leave it blank I can still use my precious experience to find a role, if I show this one it will take me away from the precious one, does this make sense? I can go about a year without income if this wait will bring me my ideal job. Greatly appreciate further advice!

If $ is not an issue I would move on and not list the short stay on your resume since it will offer no value.

If/since it is out of your desired industry/career path and if you can't take the financial hit of being unemployed again, you have the option of staying until you find something else and explaining that it was an interim job to pay bills until you could find something that was better suited to your career goals (especially if it lasts longer than you expect.
You never know how long it will be until you get that "perfect" fit). This can be a bullet point on the resume and highlighted in the cover letter.

I would stick it out, put your head down and spend time looking for work outside of this place. If a prospective employer asks why you are leaving you can say the role was not as described and you want to not invest any more time there.

Hey .. to stay at a job that you already starting to feel a lot of work issues is an upbeat situation! If it’s already causing undecided decisions to make? You can just speak with your manager one on one and see she can explain some suggestions about the job or make your exit out the door.because we use too much energy on unnecessary things in life that we can’t control…! I wish you luck to make the more productive decisions) .

I can try to help you based on my experience. Luckily, I had the financial means to resign when my job was hitting my mental health horribly.

Are you able to do the work, like is it busy work bringing in a paycheck? If yes, then I would stay. If no, continue.

Do you have the financial capacity or resources to look for another job? 6-12 months of savings is recommended. I had roughly 3-4 months saved and luckily found a new role in 2 months.

If no, is the manager abusive or is the job hurting your mental health? If yes, quit immediately. Health is so much more important - take care of yourself :)
