Is your partner in life misbehaving at work?

Is your partner in life misbehaving at work?

I found out toward the end of my marriage that my spouse was running around with anyone who would look at him. Which I find funny now, but at the time it damaged me to think that while we were at corporate events or out with his peers from work, they knew but I didn't.

And let me add, it was so bad that I can't even walk into certain healthcare systems without being embarrassed.

Little backstory: he's a doctor and I work in IT.

Having worked in a hospital for 5+ years, I would never marry or even date a doctor. Not all were like that of course, but so many (and this was a small town hospital) were and the stories I heard from before my time just boggled the mind. It was seriously the stuff of soap operas. I worked in a few other hospitals after and same. The one doc I worked for, it was common knowledge that he was a womanizer, pretty sure the wife knew the whole time but she got her luxury vacations and whatever else so I guess she just chose to live with it.

I’m sorry but women always know.

There are always red flags. How could you not know?

Wow, this seems like an extraordinarily unhelpful response. Have you heard the phrase "blaming the victim"? Why would you even respond this way to someone who has clearly been deeply hurt by a betrayal from a partner? And what is your point? That she is somehow in the wrong for being unaware that her partner was a lying cheater? Why respond like this to this post?

It’s not your ex-husband’s colleagues responsibility to disclose his infidelity to you. I’m not sure what advice you’re after other than to air the demise of your marriage. It’s obvious to anyone reading this that nothing about your story is funny…or behind you if you’re seeking online forums to make anonymous posts. Please seek some counseling to help process all of this, you deserve this help.

Is this a vent post or an advice post? I hope he's your ex spouse now. Cheating is abuse, despite what generations of normalizing this kind of behavior has ingrained in us. Women in particularly have been considered dependents, which is why their husbands got away with their abuse without much repercussion.

Hope you're away from that disfunction, got tested, and are finding your peace knowing that many people have been conditioned bury their heads in the sand when they see (or do) something wrong. Society has been built around staying silent in the face of injustice for a long long time, cheating spouses included, amongst other horrific things that happen inside family and workplace dynamics.
