Like any other time :) This is my funnest advice: Take a walk and come back. Set your calendar for 10-15 minute "focus chunks" with one specific goal for each time period - this makes it feel like a game of "beat the clock" for me.

I'm not certain that this is really something to worry about. The relaxed/wind down vibe of Fridays is so deeply ingrained in everybody by the time we finish with school that it's odd to actually expect someone outside of an ER or OR (or an EMT) to not go into weekend mode. I think it depends on whether or not getting your work done Friday affects your Monday workload. Perhaps the prospect of an easier/lighter workload on Monday might increase your ability to focus.
