Feeling undervalued at work

Feeling undervalued at work

i work for a ruthless, toxic ceo that does not value her employees. She treats employees like slaves, is extremely controlling, threatens them with their job and quite frankly only thinks about herself. She told a group in a meeting that we need to work hard so that she can maintain a certain standard of living. I was like wtf. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. Believe me, I am pounding the pavement looking for a job everyday. I have just started attending networking events off hours which I will continue. I have changed my perspective on the job. First I was giving it all that I have- working 9 - 10 hour days, producing 30+ hires in just a couple of months ( in which the ceo responded I don’t care). Well I know my value and my contributions so I do care and will look at this as an experience to determine the culture of my next job.

I stay for my bills. I am a recruiting manager with 20 + years of experience in the business. I will stay professional and do my job, but will not stay late or go above and beyond like I usually do especially if it is not appreciated. I have been there for almost 2 years without a raise. I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place but I will soldier on.

Continue to do what you are doing. It's great that you know your worth and you're willing to step out on the premise that you can do better. Something's going to come your way.

Soldier on to pay your bills and get out of there as fast as you can. It sounds like you know yourself, know your value, and demand respect. All good things; take this experience and your work ethic and give it to a company and a leader who deserve you.

You can do better. If I were you, I would write up my contributions to the company bottom line - i.e. all of the good employees you have hired and other aspects of your job that have strengthened your present company's financial position, and then take this resume with your accomplishments and see what you can find in the marketplace. Sounds to me as if your talents are not being properly respected where you are, and in my long experience (and probably in yours also - 20+ years), I have never experienced or heard of conditions as you describe getting better.

Wishing you the very best - You may actually get a position that is much better in all aspects - that has been my experience when in a situation such as yours.

A bad work place can make you feel tired and stressed. It is important to know your value and set limits. Looking for a better job can help. I also enjoy Slope Game(https://slope-games.org/) during breaks because it is simple, quick, and fun.

How satisfying it is to clear several difficult obstacles in a row, maintain a smooth rhythm, and watch your score climb higher while Dinosaur Game Online gradually becomes faster and much more demanding! https://dinosaurgameonline.io
