I am new to the group. I just found this site today. I am currently unemployed and looking for work. I have never experienced being out of work for such a time. I have been in lending and finance for over 20 years. I am willing to learn new skills as mortgage is not producing very much at this time. If anyone has any advise, that would be greatly appreciated.

   Welcome, Tammy! Try to find out which companies like to hire employees who have worked at your previous workplaces. If not already done, please make a list of which people you know, and which companies they work at. They can tell you if there are open positions at their workplaces, can be asked to refer you for a job, can tell you what their workplaces are like. The larger law firms employ quite a few Accounting professionals - see if your skills qualify you for any law firm accounting positions. Almost every company needs Accounting support, I am hopeful you will find many opportunities, and get in the door at a company which can offer you a career path.
