I am pursuing Data Science and Machine Learning after a career gap. I am looking for a data analyst job as a fresher. previously i was working as a teacher.

   Make sure you also mention the industry you are looking to be in. Each industry has different skill needs and institutional knowledge. Healthcare, Finance, and Ecommerce are all pretty big industries that utilize data and machine learning very differently. Given that you were a teacher previously, if you have an interest, it might be beneficial to stick with Education. Colleges need to watch and predict trends in the job market so they can cultivate their curriculum to continue attracting students, as an example use-case.

   JD Morrow’s advice is excellent. However, I want you to be prepared for some attitudes that surround being a former teacher and entering a new industry. I spent 20 years in public K-12 ed, 12 as a teacher, 8 as a school administrator. It was challenging to get my foot into the door of other industries bc often my experience and skills weren’t taken seriously. Keep trying in spite of this and don’t get discouraged. I absolutely love my corporate learning and development job that I fell into a decade ago. And I make triple what I made as a school administrator. Best wishes!
