People don't deserve to be treated like this - regardless of if the decision to reduce government size is good or bad. They can treat people humanely. I've also just come across this - they are now exposing information of every agency out there.

Is your family member seeing any evidence that the cuts have anything to do with competence? It seems like whole offices are getting slashed based in one person’s perception of what’s “wasteful.” There certainly doesn’t seem to be any careful distinction to get rid of only “lazy sloths.”

Indeed, I am thinking about the Federal workers as well and wish the best for all!

I don’t think anyone disagrees with eliminating poor performing staff in the federal government.. the concern many of us have is the arbitrary, and in some cases retaliatory, nature of the firings. Just a few days ago a bunch of key staff working on. Our nuclear arsenal were fired only having to be rehired when DOGE realized what they actually did. That does not instill confidence.

I have many,, hard working friends in federal positions and am concerned not only for their current jobs, but for the benefits they worked for- basing their retirement plans on them.

I do t have answers but am deeply concerned about what is happening and what it means in the bigger picture.

Curious how you reconcile the wasted money you’re upset at having had to pay vs the proposed tax cuts for those making over $400k+ and the new budget proposal that will actually increase the US deficit by 3 trillion dollars? That doesn’t sound like an intentional plan to save money vs more of a political purging of employees to make way for adding political loyalists and to get rid of agencies based on political motivations. Can you explain how this is actually about saving taxpayers money?

Congress can. Some of them completely forgot about their responsibility to the constituents who elected them and do very little. Yet they continue to be paid BY THE GOVERNMENT.

140K lazy sloths, that's interesting and the most ridiculous statement ever made. Horror stories such as not feeding children or denying women life-saving care?

The truth is some folks follow anyone who hates others.
