Hi Fairygodboss community.

Hi Fairygodboss community.

I am a school social worker looking to expand beyond the school system. I just completed my application sit for my LCSW exam and will likely complete it sometime in the next month.

I want to move into other roles and would love to work in something more remote with companies that have similar values for growth, inclusion, diversity, and acceptance of people who identify with what makes them comfortable, but also feel comfortable being their authentic selves. Additionally I am interested in companies that recognize many professions have transferable skills. Within the social work field I have obtained several skills that would make me a good candidate for more administrative level positions, however some of the "requirements" are items I have not met.

How do you recommend handling this?

I understand compromise, and am certainly willing to do that but I am so ready for change!

Advice is welcome if you feel you can provide value or insight for me.

Blessings

Hey, Congratulations on taking this big step! Your experience has given you valuable skills that many organizations need. Don't let every job requirement discourage you—many employers value passion, empathy, and a willingness to learn. If you're looking for a supportive and purpose-driven environment, you might enjoy working at The Krishna Kids, where making a positive impact on children's lives is at the heart of what we do. Wishing you all the best for your LCSW exam and your next chapter! i am mentioning the website so you can go through if your intrested https://thekrishnakids.com/ they have 2 branch in vadodara and Rajkot .

Congratulations and good luck on your LCWS exam!

You do have a valuable skillset that many orgs could use.

For corporate, the interest in growth, inclusion and diversity seems like those functions sit with in HR spaces or some divisions are called Belonging.

I also agree, that finding the right company that leads with same values and interest as yours is key.

Are you familiar with the non-profit SHRM? I would get connected there and join their community to start networking with like-minded professionals in that space. https://www.shrm.org/home?int_content=front-door Even if you don't want to pay for membership at this time, you can search on LinkedIn and other social spaces for HR communities + events to be around folks who could give you more career guidance and good leads to potential jobs. Look at attending meetups in your city, just search HR meetups + your city and see what comes up.

I wouldn't get hung up too much on what skills you do not have but showcase what DO have. Of course, being open to other certs might be useful but that's why I encourage you to connect/network with other like-minded professionals in your arena to provide you with that support and guidance. Good luck to you!

A quiet evening at home turned into a few interesting rounds after I decided to explore a new style of online entertainment. I had seen many people in Kenya discussing crash-style games, so I wanted to understand what made them popular. Through CaptainsBet https://aviator-kenya.ke/ I discovered a simple way to enjoy the Aviator experience without spending time learning complicated mechanics. What I enjoy most is the quick pace because every round feels different and keeps your attention. The platform works comfortably on my smartphone, which matters because most of my online activity happens through mobile. I also appreciate that everything is organized clearly, making it easy to move around and focus on the game itself rather than searching through unnecessary sections.
