Employees for life without a clue

Employees for life without a clue

I have been at my current employer three years and have realized that a manager two levels above me does not have the training or knowledge to make informed decisions, which puts our projects at risk. There is also an immature culture supported by other long-time employees, 10 years and longer, that discounts much of what a new employee contributes. New is anyone with less than 10 years tenure.

I feel alone, disrespected, and disgusted with this mentality. Help!

Suffering is a choice, tine to look for another job.

Feel your feelings. Release them, set up boundaries, then plan, and leave. You're ready for a new journey. Good luck!

I guess it's time to move on or create a great private life that balances out the job you hate.

Bottom line you will not change the culture. It has survived for decades just fine.

Well, sounds like you need to find a more fertile environment. Don't worry, just focus on you, update your resume and seek employment elsewhere. It's not worth your mental health to work in a place that stresses you out. As another poster stated, I paraphrase, it's been like this for a long time and you can't change the culture.

Most unfortunately this is very common in smaller companies and it’s difficult, if not impossible, to change it as the mentality is deeply rooted in these types of organizations and the people that make them up. The longer you stay the more frustrated you will become so if you are financially able, cut ties with this organization as quickly as you can

This doesn't sound like a good fit for you.

10 years is long, 3 years is not short. Look for another jobs, two level above you doesn’t have business sense mean you should move on and not to be traumatized by unnecessary

    disturbances.
