I was recently laid off after 12 years.?since looking for another job it’s been hell out there. I’m very qualified as an Executive Assistant I’ve had 10 companies contact me all my interviews have gone well. The recruiters make me feel like I’m a great fit and they will contact me for the next round and I never hear from them again!!! I’m getting so demotivated and very frustrated over this. Why can’t I get a final interview what am I doing wrong??? I can’t stand this anymore ?

See if you can get feedback from the companies you interviewed with.

Are the recruiters working for an agency or are they stand-alone (I am guessing that the recruiter is someone outside the company that you are working with and not HR personnel)? I suggest researching any recruiter you talk to make sure they are highly rated. You can ask for references for recruiters and see reviews online for some. Only focus on recruiters you feel are worthwhile.

Some are the actual company that I interview with and they always make me feel like I am the one and they will get back to me and I hear zero. Thanks for your advice!

First you are not doing anything wrong. I have been looking g for another position for over 2 years. The job market and interview process is horrible. In one situation, the first interview went really well with the internal recruiter and was pushed forward to the decision maker. In the 2nd interview with the decision maker I quickly learned that she was in a different state and I brought it to her attention that she is looking for someone to grow business in another state and I was 2 hours away! I brought this to her attention, removed my application from the process and told her to tell HR to look for someone who lives closer to the market they want to grow. I then emailed the Internal recruiter giving him the same advice,. Instead of saying thank you , he defended his actions and company that he did the right thing. There is so much you can do. Keep looking and move on. It’s rough out there.
