Document everything and work with your union. Let your boss know you love your job and team and hope it can be worked out. Good luck with this.

I empathize with your angst about pending changes and having to face them at a stage where most of us are just frankly, tired. I wonder, could you look at other companies in the industry that you are already in and apply there? I am in a similar situation at 46 having been with my employer for 24 years. I feel unable to move even with degrees because those degrees are not on the industry/field that I have been in. But there are competitors to my employer. If that applies for you, maybe you can apply for the same position at a competing company, as long as you are within your current contract's noncompete regulations - if any.

Your narrative isn’t complete. Did your boss say this out of the blue one day or have there been problems?

Wgat do you expect your union to do for you? Are you taking any steps to resolve the situation or look for placement in a new role?

Perceived discrimination. Still I will role with the punches...the union have been great. Meeting with my manager soon to seek resolution

Keep silent and your head down so you don't create any drama that might blow back.

To help balance your health and peace of mind, focus on selfcare and fill your life with full people, places and activity.
