I did it, and so can you!

I did it, and so can you!

It took 10 months, but I finally left my toxic job for a new one. Will it be better? There are problems at every job, but I vetted the company and knew which questions to ask to ensure I wasn’t entering another toxic situation. I haven’t officially started, but my experience has already been 100% better.

We work 40+ hours a week and deserve a job that doesn’t make you cry, hate your job to the point you no longer care, and are sick days and weeks on end. There are good companies out there.

Tits up and crown straight! You got this!

What questions did you ask that helped you feel confident they weren’t another toxic employer?

I was thinking about that same post. There is great advice on who to find out about the company culture.

So true. I have PTSD from my previous toxic work experience. I practically cry every time my boss wants to meet with me. I am expecting my former "beat down". Instead, it is usually a project she has for me, that she felt was perfect for me. Or some sort of "kudos" or award.

Don't stay at a toxic job. It isn't worth it. I make half what I made before, I don't even miss the money.

OP: I took a pay cut for the new position as well. It isn’t always about the money. It is about respect.

Wow! That’s great! What questions did you ask?

  10. Anonymous

OP: my questions focused in the areas that were a concern at that job and pervious bad experiences: training and communcation. If you are looking to get a new job what would like to avoid in future jobs and ask those questions.

    Good for you!!!

I’m on year 2 of being away from the absolute worst nightmare of a job and never have I looked back. It was hard though..:::
