I'm thrilled to share my journey and aspirations as I navigate the intersection of pharmacy expertise and data analytics. Since completing my Masters in Pharmacy in 2022, I've been on a quest to find roles that marry my pharmaceutical background with the power of data-driven insights.

While on this journey, I've delved into the world of data analytics, mastering techniques such as data cleaning, wrangling, and analysis using tools like PostgreSQL, Excel, and PowerPoint. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, allowing me to leverage my pharmaceutical knowledge in innovative ways.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I've had the privilege of working on impactful data analytics projects with esteemed companies like TATA, KPMG, BCG Gamma, and Accenture. These experiences have broadened my horizons and underscored the transformative potential of data in the pharmaceutical landscape.

As I explore potential career paths, I'm particularly interested in roles such as Pharmacovigilance Specialist, Drug Regulatory Affairs Associate, Clinical Data Abstraction Specialist, Trial Master File Associate, and Clinical Data Analyst. These roles not only capitalize on my pharmacy background but also offer exciting opportunities to apply data analytics in pharmaceutical settings.

    Are you based in the US? If so, I’ve seen a few recent job postings on LinkedIn that you may be a good fit for. I don’t remember which companies exactly as I am not looking for roles in the pharmaceutical industry but my background does include working in pharmaceutical companies and also in analytics (insurance/finance industry).

    I think data analytics can be an interesting career direction for people who enjoy finding patterns and turning raw information into something understandable. It also seems useful to build a solid foundation in areas like SQL, spreadsheets, statistics, and data visualization rather than trying to learn every tool at once. One thing I would pay attention to is how analysts work with data that comes from everyday applications. For example, PostgreSQL can be involved in storing information, while background jobs may handle tasks such as processing records or sending webhooks. There are even PostgreSQL-based job queue options, such as https://spooled.cloud/, which can be relevant when thinking about how data systems operate behind the scenes
