Quick vent here-I received a rejection email

It said, "we are informing you that your application with us was not successful". LMAO! Who writes these boilerplate rejections? It just struck me as odd. Anyone else get a weird rejection?

YES, I have! I think it is a template, and they send out the same to all their rejections (they need a BETTER word).

It feels so, ummm, 1950's to me? Like it should be a letter in the mail :)-

LOL! I've gotten those that come at 3:00am on Sunday morning and then someone following up-you know, a more personalized boiler plate rejection; just to make sure I understand that I have zero chance of getting in ;).

I like getting them 9 months after you applied for a job. I always feel like a dodged a bullet. Any company that far behind that is sending out boilerplate rejections is not being well-run or managed.

YES! I actually received a rejection 2 years after I applied. I was like-huh? Who is this? I didn't remember applying and clearly wasn't holding my breath!

I agree. One time I applied for a job and didn't get the rejection notice until after the new hire was announced on their LinkedIn page. Really? Obviously, I didn't make it to the interview stage, so why not send the rejection email at that point? I'd rather you just send that auto rejection right away than leave me in limbo.
