Hello,

Hello,

I’m a HR dept of one and I would like to ask if anyone has the capacity or willingness to serve as my mentor or regular contact for quick HR advice? I offer myself for the same.

I’m dealing with some random and sporadic things at work and being a dept of one I just sometimes need someone who understands to keep sane, and share tips to navigate through some of these things. Some of the things are common sense and I wonder if I’m losing it but being HR I must watch what & how I say things. I know that I can’t be the only one dealing with these types of things that make you go “hmm”.

Thank you in advance

Thank you for your response. I am a member is SHRM and my local SHRM chapter, additionally I am a member of another HR association that offer a HR hotline. I do utilize those resources when available and there’s only so much SHRM advisors can say. But thank you for that suggestion it is helpful!

I was department of one for all of one year (nonprofit - they previously didn't have dedicated HR). I realized within months that was not for me. Feel free to connect with me if you feel I could offer anything based on my experience.
