I'm looking to pivot back in my career.

After 15 years of a successful career, I found myself out of work and decided to pivot into another field in tech, where I've enjoyed myself for the past decade. With the uncertainty caused by restructurings in tech, I'm looking to pivot back to my previous field. I've updated my resume to highlight my transferable skills, have been taking courses to bring my knowledge up to date, and have been networking galore.

At the very least I'd like to take a position at the level where I left off. I don't want to sell myself short but given my hiatus, I'm wondering if it's more realistic that I take a job at a lower level at least to get myself back in the game... any thoughts on this? thx

    I suggest you start looking at your previous level and one down (possibly one up) because you never know what will pop, especially since you keep your skills fresh, it depends on what you are pivoting back to. For example, a decade away from IT would be as bad as a century if you haven't kept your toe in the water with education and job requirements. Good luck with your search.
