I’ve recently completed three rounds of interviews for a role I’m really excited about, and waiting to hear back about the status of my application. A couple days ago, I saw that the hiring team was posting to promote the position on LinkedIn - is this a sign that they want someone else and not me?

we don't know what they are doing. But this has no bearing on you, other tha you speculating what is occurring.

That’s a tough one. I would wonder too. All you can do is follow up from your final interview (if you haven’t already) reiterating your interest, why you’re a fit, and your continued interest. You will have done your due diligence as a job seeker. Keep your options open just in case. Good luck and let us know what happens!

My speculation is the company is continuing to look for additional candidates trying to find the purple unicorn. Doesn't mean you won't be offered the job Keep filling your job search pipeline the meantime. Good luck.

This has happened to me and it is the WORST feeling. Companies often keep reposting open jobs until an offer letter is signed and the new person starts; just to be safe and keep a candidate pool in case something happens. Hang in there.

Could mean they have a second open position. Or they could use an automated service that posts for people. It looks like the person is personally posting the content but their company is auto posting on their behalf (many places do this to boost site visibility and algorithms) - the post you are seeing could have previously been cued up to go. Plus even if they fulfill it. Companies use this as a way to drive activity to their site. This is also probably a reason why so many are jobs that no longer exist. Try and not worry about it. But I know easier said than done

I have seen this before in the last few weeks. This practice of suddenly throwing up the job on a jobsite is often done to cover the company's backside. JUST IN CASE, the already approved candidate does not work out, they can always say they advertised the role on the outside. Often times, these companies contact recruiters for the same reason so they can have a stack of resumes on file to say they conducted an outside search.

If it is a larger company often they have job slots on LI that refresh with some regularity and will keep doing so until the role is filled. A human has to take it down once filled. If you applied through LI they might have set up things through there using it as their ATS and it could keep refreshing that way. If the role is a VISA posting where they are required by law to vet external folks against an internal person who may need a green card often they need proof to show the role was open through the vetting period. I don't think the latter is your situation because of the 3 rounds. I would suggest the former reason and IMHO the best thing to do is to continue being top of their mind until you hear from them about your status as a candidate NOT an applicant. 3 interviews makes you that! Definitely send thank you notes reinforcing your fit to all whom you met with. Be sure to share how excited you are to join the team and work with them. If you have not provided references to the HM offer to do so and see if they bite on that email and if so give them the best 3 that you have. Keep the faith you got this!

The posting could have been refreshed and sometimes that triggers an auto “post” of the position if an individual is tied to the company account. Usually a pretty short/generic sentence shows.

Nothing is done or exists if it’s not in writing. Hopefully it was just a refresh and to continue generating traffic to the posting until they solidify an offer with you. Best of luck!

It's not a good sign but also not necessarily a bad sign. The hiring team might be refreshing the posting automatically until the position is filled, or they might have opened up a second, identical position.

The only really good sign in the job interview process is an actual offer that is not retracted and leads to a job that doesn't disappear shortly after you start. The last hiree is all too often the first firee, so all the "signs" don't mean anything unless and until you are hired and have a sense of security in your new job. Keep up your job search until that happens.
