It all depends on your skills and interests, what you can afford by start-up costs, commuting costs, and time. Side hustles can be anything from selling products through direct marketing to bartending/restaurant servers to delivery service. If you are artsy, you could create handmade items and sell them at trade shows or on the internet. Your question is like asking, "I need a job, what can I do?". We need more context and information to be helpful. If the government and other layoffs trickle down as you suspect, ask, "Can my side hustle turn into a full-time business venture?" That is where I would start and go from there.

The only side hustles I know of that are legit and pay are uber, Lyft, door dash. Those types of things. If that interests you get yourself established with them BEFORE you need them to see if you’ll be successful and if they suit you. Good luck
