I recently returned to the US after living abroad (10yrs). In the past, I never had a problem finding and getting work but my industry has also changed drastically. Last year I decided to pivot and I do enjoy my new career. The issue is this; how do I reflect this in my resume? The current resume (new career) looks bare compared to my 17years of work. Thank you!

For your previous roles, focus on the specific tasks or topics that are transferable to your new field. Ex: lab technician who primarily developed assays and performed PCR testing, but also presented at national meetings and created reports and maintained documentation. The first part doesn't translate in any useful way to most other fields, but presenting and reporting probably do. So one bullet point for the technical stuff, but separate bullet points for all of the parts that actually apply beyond a niche field.
