I have also experienced very abnormal situations -

a) After receiving a letter that you have been short listed for a position & what are the next steps, after a week or so they feeze the position.

b) A recruiter takes pride in publishing that he has rejected 46 well qualified candidates because they did not understand what answer he was expecting. Isnt it a failure on part of the interviewer that his question was not wel

l phrased?

c)Some regret letters say " We are lucky enough to...."

So keep trying & believe in yourself. Even if you have all the requirements fulfilled in the job specifications, you may not get an interview or may get simply rejected the reason best known to the interviewer only.

I have come across a candidate on linkedin who got selected given offer letter but the date of joining was confirmed after 6 weeks. Imagine her plight. Shold she resign or no from previous job?

I think this is a "trust your gut " situation. Because giving Notice would trigger an end date that might not leave her with employment or benefits while she waits for the new company to sort things out.

That's why an offer which doesn't include specific onboarding information and start date is paramount and if that start date is a moving target, it would be wise to reconsider the offer.

She should nor resign and rethink if this new company has it together.
