I have gotten fired before.

I have gotten fired before. It was only because I put the friendship above the work. Now it's reversed. I care about doing my job. I care more about myself though. Obviously you can't guarantee that people won't fire you. That's just the reality of things. You didn't have to take it so personally though. It happens. Oh well. You move on. It's not that big a deal. People are just people after all. There's no one answer to solve everything. Sorry, there's just isn't. That's the way it is. Why do people do the things they do? For whatever reason they come up with. The end.

it took a lot for her to share that she has a mess. It does not mean that you have to give her leeway for everything, but there are gonna be very hard moments for her. Just tell her that you appreciate her opening up and sharing something personal. And you know that it will affect work in someway. Reassure her that you will try to pick up some slack and also suggest that you both ask the company if you can hire an assistant for the smaller things.

Sometimes priorities shift, and it's a tough lesson to learn. Work and personal relationships are a balancing act, but at the end of the day, we move on. People are just doing what they think is best, and that's all we can really control
