Hi all.

Hi all. I lead a Health and Fitness ERG and would love to connect with other ERG Leaders. I would like to ideate on how to increase engagement and participation as well as some lessons learned. Looking forward to connecting.

Okay thanks, I was thrown as erg is short for ergo meter. I have career shifted to the fitness industry and I’ve been enjoying networking opportunities way more than past industries that I’ve worked in.

ERG - employee resource group (akin to clubs in HS)

My prior organization had these and while participating wasn't mandatory, they were "highly encouraged". Often AFTER HOURS for aerobics classes, etc.

I couldn't join, I had family obligations. It was seen as a HUGE negative

An ERG for Health & Fitness? Interesting. About a decade ago, I was charged as one of the 'co-founders' of a wellness initiative. I suppose it could be somewhat similar to what you are doing now.

What are you currently doing? As you look at developing activities, are you being inclusive in activities you choose? Are you making it just about wellness/physical fitness or are you including mental, spiritual, financial, etc. wellness into consideration? Consider building out a monthly calendar of events - lunch & learns focusing on different areas of wellness, challenges (not just step challenges), volunteering, etc.

Thank you so much for these amazing nuggets of knowledge. This is exactly what I have been thinking about. What are some pitfalls you can share or lessons learned around engagement and participation?
