Find something positive each day. Connect with people who you enjoy being around. They can help keep our positivity light on. Be the light you want others to be. In the meantime, update your resume, apply to jobs and then see if you can find a culture you appreciate working. Not every company is for everyone.

I know. Focus on why you work and make your time off good.

Breathe. Sometimes it's all you can do to suffer through 1 minute at a time. Ghooooooosfabahhhhh

I know it's easier said than done, but maybe trying to find just some gratitude for having a job in this horrible economy? I realize that doesn't make the craziness any easier to bear, but trust me, you don't want to be unemployed right now. It's absolutely brutal out here. Hang in there!!

I focus on the paycheck, and I remind myself that a job is only 8 hours a day (or 12 if working 12 hr shifts) and then I get to go home to my family, friends, pets and hobbies.

What I do is use any education benefits (tuition reimbursement, Online Learning, other) to improve myself. It gives possible options in moving up, to move to another group, or to move on. The study/learning can be an added distraction in the meantime.

I started looking for other positions within the company first, then outside the company. After I found another, I should have quit then and there. but I gave notice.

You create an amazing life. Work should not be everything. If you love your life and have plenty of joy you have a great way to balance everything.

As a few have already pointed out, you are not tied at the hip to this bad job and probably even worse people. You spend your days thinking about all the jobs you will be applying to when you get home. Same for weekends. Once the phones and emails start coming from recruiters and other companies, you are half way there and life gets a lot easier.

I have had other colleagues ask me this. All I can say is find something... anything about the job or your day to look forward to or like and focus on that....

In your downtime, focus on things that make you happy and fulfilled. Find a new hobby, go out with friends, or volunteer for a non-profit. Fill your life with meaningful things to distract you from the chaos at your job.
