How to communicate with people on LinkedIn if you have not been on the workforce for three years, but you worked with them?

When you connect to people in LinkedIn , what is the best approach to acknowledge that they have accepted your invitation to connect on LinkedIn?What do you usually say . I “hope youre doing well” is not best response. Should I send a meesage of how I found her/him on linkedin and decided to cnnect. Or that they interview me in the past?

On a an interview, what is the best approach to respond if when they are the type of person “who goes above and beyond”? I have had meetings where I am told my experience is amazing, but how would I manage my work with family? That the company requires extensive hours out of the regular time which they call it commitment.

Sometimes within the same company, they will offer you to apply to other positions available as they think you will be a good fit. How do you impress the second interviewer? Would the interviewer feel pressure to interview a candidate that has been referred by another department in the same company, and just by kindness they will interview the interviewee?

I want to address your second paragraph, specifically "I have had meetings where I am told my experience is amazing, but how would I manage my work with family?" Why are you even being asked this in interviews? How is this entering the conversation, because it absolutely should not be - it goes into the territory of "illegal interview questions".

I received this comment after they asked why I didn’t work for the past three years. I felt uncomfortable to be asked this. As I wasn’t a good candidate due to having kids. Thank you your response. I didn’t take the job and I felt like awkward

Connections are fine but the best way to show up is to show up as a real human in the comments.
