I applied for many many jobs and interviewed through zoom or in person for several jobs. I got 2 emails stating basically the position wasn’t a match for me at this time. The other companies never sent anything. So I don’t think it’s uncommon for them not to send rejection emails.

Most companies these days don't have the staff to send rejection notes, instead you may only get acknowledgement that your resume was received. If you have applied once and then see the posting again it might be a posting to firm up someones VISA internally. That gets done and is a legal thing companies have to do. Alternatively, you could find someone on linkedin or who has left the company and ask about their process. Check glassdoor as well often you will find out details to know just how they do things. It's a flooded market at the moment so depending upon the type of role it is they may have received more candidates than they can process and prefer to stop the flood vs having to process it.

I don’t agree that they are lacking staff to send rejection letters I worked for numerous corporations and smaller companies where dispositioning and applicant was all part of the process and mandatory so I think it’s appropriate for anyone that applies and interviews to be notified. That’s my opinion after 25 years in HR.

I tend to agree with you. I find it's the smaller companies that are more diligent in getting back to you on your status- usually with a phone call. Most larger companies are using a recruitment platform that has a prescribed form letter for rejections. If you've filled the spot, let the system send the "sorry, we went with someone else" letter. Some do.
Some companies are posting phantom jobs as well. Just to see who they get.
Good Luck!
