I gave notice and am leaving a 5y (almost 6) with a company that I was mildly valuable to because new leadership refused to see me. I am going to an opportunity that some would see as a step down and also employment insecurity but an important pivot into who I know I am.

Believe in you and your growth.

Believing in you also means taking risks which sometimes work for you and sometimes they don't. But if you never try, you will always be where you are.

I am excited to be excited again. I am excited to focus on my growth and potential. Don't stop believing in you!

This message couldn't have come at a more pivotal time in my life and career. I have worked in a couple of different fields myself with teaching being my most recent. I have left teaching and am starting my own business. I know I need part time income and trying to find a career that I would enjoy while I start my business feels a bit daunting and scary for me. I want to also follow my own desires and personal growth. Actually at this point the door is totally closed on my past and reopening it would only cause pain and obstacles at this point. I feel like Im being pushing through the next stage of my life by some unforeseen force. Thank you for the message. It's just a good reminder I am gong in the right direction.

3 years ago I left a job that I had been at for 19 years...I quit on a whim...knowing that there would be a huge price to pay...I went through a couple of crap jobs since then but believe after three years ..I have found my place...was a tough road and learned so much about myself ..that I am very strong and resilient..lost my father that same year and leaving marriage of 18 years...I feel like leaving that job was breaking training for what was to come...still alive and have a much greater appreciation for myself! You will survive!!!

I had this issue with the HR Director at a full time job I had last year. I gotten sick but the HR Director refused to pay my sick leave. But then then HR Director kept saying a number of things about me.

Someone filed an EEOC complaint against the HR director.

The HR director winded up leaving after I got forced out of the company.

Good for you! Careers are not linear! A "step down" can still be an important way to grow.
