I was laid off and unemployed for eight months. I finally found a job but I am underemployed and struggling. How can I market myself and not look a job hopper. I've only been at this job four months but I need to get more money coming in. Help!

A side hustle is great to tide you over until you find something more appropriate

You need to find a weekend part time job. You can do this until you get to year one on your full time role. Then you can move to a different full time role.

Who cares if you look like a job hopper. What does that even mean these days. Take care of you. Do your very best where you are. When interviewing don’t say you’re underemployed, just say it’s not a fit and while you’re having a great time working there your real passion is

in whatever industry you are interviewing for
good luck and glad you’re working!!

You don’t have to put every job on your resume, especially short term. If you feel it makes you look like a job hopper, leave it off. If they ask what you are doing, just say you have something short term right now to hold you over until you find your long term home.
