So what was the PIP for, was it fabricated? Did you respond or challenge any of the criticism with data and metrics to dispute the allegations?

It sounds like they referenced performance issues in the PIP...did you have an action plan or steps to address anything they referenced? There's a gap to bridge between I was put on a PIP and I signed an agreement and took severance. Not enough info here to really comment.

There's a huge gap as another poster mentioned. What was the reason you were put on a PIP? They can put you on one for many reasons. Still talk with an attorney as that agreement may not hold up in court. But you need documentation and facts. You were warned by a PIP but something had to have happened. Even if the manager was looking to find something. Glad you have some severance but the red flag, even 8 years ago was signing something about not suing them. I've signed non-competes but they never hold up on court.

I agree with the others who commented, what was the PIP for? And how long afterwards were you placed on a PIP when you asked for a raise?

If anything and you still wish to pursue legal actions, you could also have an attorney review the severance to see what you agreed to on it.

Pretty much immediatly -but they did it in a sneaky way-as to build up a case against me, they did not tell me right away they started giving me impossible tests-only me, and not the other developers in my team-so discrimination, then gaslighted me that i didn't know every detail of every answer-like all the sudden they expected me to have a genius IQ, then they decided im not meeting their expectations after they gave me a low rating on the tests ..then put me on a zoom with HR was when i was told I was on PIP now for 3 months, if i did not show improvement and write them a report with proof every week-which I did and supplied the proof I dont even think they read the reports, their plan was to get rid of me. Guess it was "nice" for them to give me time to look for a new postion which I was..but still have not found.

I was giving just a month to improve on my last job and thereafter i was asked to resign.

I hope you didn’t resign b/c that may have impacted your ability to file for UI benefits.
