Just graduating college this month with my Graphics Design degree and I am having trouble getting responses back from employers. I have tried Indeed and LinkedIn. Any other suggestions?

Perhaps you can build a portfolio with some free work? Nonprofits could possibly use you on a contractor basis.

Go to your University's career center and ask to make an appointment with a coach. Then use their recruiting system if they have one, join any alumni networking events as well. Look for others with your degree and if you have experience, then ask others in your network (think LinkedIn) where they went to work after college or if they have connections for you. If you do not have experience, the employer hires those who do. Your question, I can hear it, how am I supposed to get experience if no one will hire me? I'm in higher ed, I hear this all the time. Did you go to all career fairs, have you been networking? What have you done to get experience while in college? All of this matters. If you have no experience, you will need to find an entry level job or just a job anywhere to get you work experience. Or consider applying to internships, as those are some of the best ways to get experience.

Go to your college's career center and meet with a coach. If you graduate before you do, make sure they also offer alumni career services. Use your resources while still enrolled and BEFORE graduation. If you do not have work experience, employers will pass you by. If you do, add it. Get references and ask a professor if they would be willing to write a reference letter. Some will and some will not to be fair to all students. I'm in higher ed so don't waste one second not getting advice from the college you're graduating.
