So after 4yrs I finally landed an onsite job wfh was draining mentally especially in a call center, now I’m in a battle with myself about giving my employer a full 2 weeks notice….i just really want to take break before starting new job but there is no more pto for me to use ugh

Congrats on the new job! Way to go! Giving 2 weeks notice is customary and professional. However, the time between jobs is so important to allow you to do a reset. This gives you a moment to adjust from the old to the new. Most people cannot afford to take off a week in between. For example, if in state government, you cannot take a break between agencies as that is considered a break in service (and you lose your benefits and have to start over). Now, if you're in corporate, find out if you are paid weekly or in 2-week arrears, which most of us are. This can affect how long it will be before you're paid. We all dream of a break, but in reality, unless you have a lot of money saved up and have banked a month's worth of salary, you will need to go to the next job right after the previous one ends. I would opt for the Friday off, and then start on Monday giving you a long weekend.
