Most have given 2 weeks after a year, accruing a certain number of days per month worked for the first 1-5 years, and increase it by a week every 5 years up to a max of five weeks.

    Salaried employee.
Two years (this week). 20 days' vacation. We can carry over up to 5 days to the following year.

Helpful to note that we are also shut down over the Christmas holiday (paid holiday).

Unlimited PTO since day 1. Recommended per year is a minimum of 20 days

I get six days a year as I work for a private university on a ten-month contract with the months of June and July off. I also get paid time off for Thanksgiving (three days) and Christmas/New Years (usually 7-8 days) plus federal holidays. I have worked at this university for three years.

Wow. are those hours or days? If it's days, that's huge! If it's hours it sucks for 25 years.

25 vacation, 6 paid leave, birthday, and 13 holidays - 45 total. I can carry over up to 25 vacation days and 30 paid leave days. I've been at my company for 12 years. The first year, employees gets 5 or 10 days of vacation as well as the other items above and then they get 15 days vacation starting with the first calendar rollover.

My last job I got 15PTO. That included vacation and sick time. That only was given to management. Non-management received 10 PTO for vacation and sick.

I've been in my role in state government for 8 years.
We get 3 weeks vacation/year which increases to 4 weeks at the 10 year mark plus sick time (I don't remember how much specifically because I have a bunch banked).

  18. Hillary Patch

My company offers unlimited PTO. However, in my first 11 months, I have been able to take 2 days of PTO. Meanwhile, my boss took over 3 weeks and would add cute notes on his calendar, such as, “in the Caribbean somewhere on a beach. “ beware of unlimited PTO.

I have seen articles backing this up. Could be a "mixed bag". Apparently many employees do not feel secure in taking as many days off as if it were spelled out Also, I imagine that since you could take off "any time", perhaps assignments are not so carefully planned and it becomes difficult to take time off?

My recent experience was as a contract employee where I got a grand total of 24 hours for whatever I wanted to use it for. Turned out that I got paid for 3 "shut down" days from the client company. Fine by me. I took vacation at the end of my contract.

    15 days, for vacation/misc use.

However this doesn’t count sick time where they don’t keep track if you need time for a doctor/rest/etc as long as work gets done in a reasonable time frame.

9 years, remote work with high travel.

A tiny insurance agency in Maine. We believe that it's important to treat our staff well and that burnout is bad. I'm very lucky.

And at some point in the distant past, someone decided we should get all federal holidays off (plus Patriots' Day in April). No employee is going to argue with that.

  27. Anonymous

I've been with my current employer for 6 mos.

    PPT: 6 days

    PTO: 9 days

After 5 years, I will get 5 more PTO days.

    Hello!

My company no longer offers PTO - they're on the Flex Plan. In some ways this is better and in others much worse.

I just started my 21st year here.

  34. Anonymous

I get 18 PTO days after 5 years with the company. Plus another 12 days non accruing management leave.

I work in a system that has collective bargaining units for almost all levels of employees.

Unlimited PTO from day 1…I typically take 3 weeks annually

  42. Anonymous

My former company offered up to 32 total

paid vacation day a year, for employees who had been there 10 years or

longer. PTO hours accrued each paycheck and total

earned time, if you banked it, was capped at

10 weeks in non “use or lose” states. Since I have been looking for a new job, standard offer seems to be 2-3 weeks to start.

  43. Cat

5.5 hours every 2 weeks. If worked 40 hours each week to accrue. 6 paid holidays per year. the office is closed 4 days and we are required to use PTO or take unpaid.
