I don't know why but I started usingmy work laptop at home. It's just easier to have one. I don't download pictures on it but use my personal, look things up and just very basic things. I never signed anything saying I would not do this. Lately I'm thinking could this lead to trouble? Or should I not worry.

Depends. Some orgs track your usage and your sites. Some have firewalls that will block it. I use mine but if anything is said, well, okay, I'll go buy one.

You should be using the company equipment for company business, I'm confident it is said somewhere in a handbook or code of conduct, it just makes sense. They will see all that you've done on there as well, don't think they won't. You don't have to always sign off that you understand every policy for them to think you understand that.

Absolutely. Always keep personal and business separate.

Never do personal things on your work computer. Never. That gives them the right to look at what you are doing, if they don’t like it, then you have to explain.

It's unprofessional. Why would you even consider it? Big red flag.

Do not use it. IT departments do have software that can easily track computers. My organization can track 10 employees at a time. I can see everything they do, go back in time, see how long the screen is not moving, I can hear everything you hear. If you have music playing that is being recorded and I can hear it. I also get alerts when someone clicks a link for a job site or any site I track for the company. So I know who is looking for other work. It's eyes and ears into every click you make and it's captured so I can see what you did yesterday or a few days ago. I can see how long you are on a page which tells me you haven't done anything and just have it open. If you are paying your bills I can see that too. Just pretend I am right next to you looking. If you wouldn't want me looking then don't go there.

I recommend that you remove all personal documents as soon as possible and stop using your work computer for personal use. It's not professional, and why give a company a reason to question your work ethics or time management? I hope this helps!

Don’t do it. Clear all cookies and personal information. It could get you fired even though you didn’t sign a specific document it is understood that company property can not be used fir personal business

The laptop is their property and if they want to scan it, they can. More importantly, if they do regular backups on their system, they have your personal stuff in their files. I'm not sure why you would want to have your personal files on a work computer. I don't even Google on my work laptop. That's what my mobile device is for. I'd email all your files to your personal email, save on your laptop, then delete on the work laptop. Good luck.
