Impacted by layoffs before I even got the job!

So, I work in the tech sector. Today, I found out that a job I was a finalist for would not work out because they laid off the entire team I would be working with! So, in the past two years, I have been laid off from a FTE role, had a contract end early due to layoffs, and now I finally reach the final stage of interviews only to find out there is no job because of layoffs! And all of these are in big tech.

I remain hopeful that I will find something but don't let anyone gaslight you that this job market is 'recovering' or 'normal.'

    I agree. This market is a nightmare. Everyone is struggling.

    Sorry to hear that. I agree, the job market is definitely not normal. I was in a similar situation. After the final round of interviews, I was told that the role I interviewed for was put on hold until the end of the year. I eventually found something else, but it was stressful! Don't give up, you will find a role in the tech, it's going to take a little patience and persistence.

    I hear you! Anyone who says the market is recovering clearly doesn't actually read the jobs report. Only healthcare is really recovering
