How to follow up after a couple of rounds of interviews?

In a couple of instances I have applied for roles and been through a couple of rounds of interviews but now its been a couple of weeks (or more) since I have heard anything.

What would be the best approach to ask where they are in the process or if I am still a potential candidate? What has worked for you in the past? Thanks!

Send an email to your interviewers expressing your continued interest. Then ask what steps may follow. Stay relevant by following up. Hope you hear something soon!

In addition to the previous reply - Ask "when" they expect to make their final selection so you can gauge what the timeline looks like.

Well at the first time you speak to the company you should ask about the steps to a the hire. IE: After this conversation can you tell me if I get selected to move ahead what the steps and timeline will be? Since you are past that stage this time, send an email to the Hiring Manager (best option) or to the Talent person reiterating your interest. Let them know you want to know if you are still being considered for the role and that if/when they need references you are happy to provide them. Tell them you are in process elsewhere so that if you are no longer in the mix you hope they will let you know as soon as possible, but that they remain your first choice (lie a bit here). If you get no response, consider it dead and move on. If you can toss in something that says you would like to know if there are other interviews ahead so you can plan for those in your calendar. Good luck.

    1) Before interviewing, make sure listed job functions, pays, locations employers wanted is aligned with your expectations, you could bring up questions during interview.

    2) follow up with people who interviewed you for a thank you letter and remind her/him you’re looking forward to next step
