(What would be the best way to prepare / What should I know) before an interview with a district manager for an assistant store manager role? Luckily, I found some resources for the first interview with the hiring manager but there should be a different level of dialogue/questions with the District Manager. For reference, I have 2.3 years of experience in retail, 1 year as a key holder but 2 weeks or so as an assistant store manager. Also, can utilize my high work ethic and a major in economics from a credible Florida university.

    Hi there!

    Great question. And good awareness that there needs to be a different approach and strategy as your interview audience changes.

    This is where instead of solely focusing in on the day to day of the role, you want to shift when talking with leadership about this role. The perspective should shift from about you to about the organization.

    I would ask questions like;

    • What does success look like in this role to you?
    • What are some of the wins that you are most proud of during your time here?
    • What challenges do you face currently that you would like this role to help you solve?

    Hope this helps.

    Coach Olivia
