Retirement? Or not

Retirement? Or not

i retired a little earlier (at 64). I was forced into retirement due to certain circumstances.

It has been 6 months and even though I enjoyed the much needed rest, I am ready to go back to work.

I don’t think I want to work for anyone in my field again (talent acquisition) but would like to try something different.

Any suggestions or insights?

Good for you! Congrats on retirement, that's wonderful! Look at higher ed jobs. And within career centers. I was also in recruiting for years and work within a career center. Our skills are priceless in working with employers and students to get hired. Better benefits, and a multi generational environment that accepts those not necessarily as early talent. I'm in my late 50's.

    Hope that helps!

I agree with Tahlora to volunteer. I have a friend who is retired from TA and she does a lot of HR-related things for her church. There are so many different avenues you can go down your skills, and if you find an organization you are passionate about, you can eventually see about a board or board of advisor position.
