I work remotely and have for the past 10 years for a small but thriving healthcare office filing insurance claims.
My issue is that when staff at the office enters insurance (and receives faxed eligibility) and scans to pt account the information entered is incorrect!! leaving me to correct all mistakes such as ID, spelling of names, DOB, etc…all information that is crucial in correct information needed for claims not to reject, and as I have said the information is scanned and in front of them so they have the information and still enter it incorrectly!
There are a few “mean girls” there that this can certainly be intentional as well as I have caught them changing correct information and such.
This also happens on all New patients with information entered with some mistakes being so absurd that it is laughable.
The OM does nothing as he has his “favorites” and they can do no wrong.
I, on the other hand am looked at that I have the envied remote position. How I wish they knew what I actually did all day!
I send my “concerns” to the Dr. and afterwards get retaliation from staff with more mistakes that I spend more time having to correct.
What is wrong with today’s generation that they either are too lazy, don’t care, or are just plain evil to get information needed and do it correctly?
I told Dr. that this is costing HIM money…so he said he was getting a key logger..
Has anyone encountered these concerns, and if so I would appreciate any suggestions you may have as how I can address this continuing subject of aggravation other than quitting my job? I need my job but this needs a resolution soon!
I always dread telling the Dr. of the ongoing issues that I am having but he won’t know unless I do.
Thank you in advance for suggestions.
