I just had a first interview for a role that I am REALLY hoping to get a second interview for...

But that's not why I am posting.

I am posting to give a HUGE shoutout to the resources that I found on this site for interview prep, and overall confidence building. I am NOT good at talking myself up, "tooting my own horn" if you will, and thanks to reading through articles and even just posts to this community, I really feel like I had a great initial interview!

GO YOU!!!!!!!! If you don't tell them, who's going to?

Talking about your experience and accomplishments is not "bragging" - not that there is one single thing wrong with bragging about what you've accomplished. Trust me when I say I've never heard a man say "oh, I find it so hard to talk about my accomplishments".

The other thing I find women do is over use "we" when talking about their experience. It's great to give credit to team members, but don't forget to give credit to yourself.

As I like to tell candidates when prepping them for interviews - "you're going to be talking about you, and you're already the subject matter expert on that - so you've got this!".

    GOOD LUCK on your interview!!!!!
