Graphic design is an expanding and changing field. Things change and improve almost daily. Make sure you are up on all the latest technologies, can show certifications, and have a killer portfolio. This indicates that you continue to be an active learner. Have you considered doing consulting? I know that Fiverr is a company that provides consulting work for web design. You may want to check them out.

Thank you for your advice. Yes, right now I am doing some consulting work until I find my next full-time opportunity. You are absolutely correct about continuous learning! I am doing my best to take advantage of so many tutorials available on LinkedIn.

Make sure your portfolio is up and clean on any public facing sites. Samples of work that you can show from previous work (redact or make private if you can't share publicly) should be given with every application even before being asked. In the graphics field its truly about talent not age.
