Have a current role wfh customer service rep(going on 4 years) and I prayed so hard to get this wfh job coming from no job for 3years and I currently hate it(hate a strong) very much dislike the role… I have no problem with call volume (60-75 calls) but I can’t take being in 4walls anymore, taking the negative comments from callers sometimes unreasonable metrics overall don’t feel the company is where I want to grow

While you keep looking for a new job, make sure to take breaks outside, walk at lunch and create a soothing stmosphere at home. You need to get very proactive with your space and routine so you can control your environment and help balance things.

Does your employer offer any flexibility in the work location. Maybe you could try a WeWork type situation a few days out of the month or is there an opportunity for hybrid. I definitely prefer my 4 walls versus the traffic and everything that goes with having to report to an office at a specific time on a regular basis. However, flexible wfh is a lot different than inbound cs.

Sounds like it's time to look for something else, maybe something in-office or something out in the world. Maybe there's a role that involves working at events/expos, or maybe you can transition into a role that requires field work. Do you have a mentor or coach you can talk to? High volume phone support is a HARD job with high turnover -- 4 years is really impressive.

I've been there, but not in customer service but in sales. And I learned to have a life outside of work. But it sounds like you like to help people, are customer driven and also can handle a lot of communication per day. What's missing is human 1:1 interaction. If I'm reading this right. Have you thought about working somewhere like a museum, library, or zoo. A place where you can interact with a ton of people, outside and inside but where you are not stuck inside all day. Could be you just need a change with other humans. Maybe a dispatcher for EMS services would serve you well. Think of other places your skills translate. I bet you will find many that will get you around more people and outside of the 4 walls.
