Does anyone on here have any experience with working for themselves as a Virtual Assistant?

Does anyone on here have any experience with working for themselves as a Virtual Assistant? If so, how did you get started and find people to pay you for your services?

I just finished working in a super toxic job with 2 narcissistic supervisors and want to work for myself.

Any tips or helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I built my business as a support function with 2 former employers. I offered to take over a job that could be done remotely and without any supervision. This is work I had done for each in the past. I worked on learning this while an employee. I started doing this as a side hustle then I talked it up to the other.

So my advice would be to position yourself as an answer to a certain job or task.

I've seen some VA's on gig sites like fiver and airtasker.

I'm thinking about going this route if I don't find a new job soon.
