Does anyone have any thoughts on how to become better acquainted with CMS "rules" and or Compliance officer jobs?

Does anyone have any thoughts on how to become better acquainted with CMS "rules" and or Compliance officer jobs? Are there classes to take? I manage an ambulatory surgery center and had about 3 days of orientation. I am terrified of any upcoming surveys and there is so little info.

CMS.gov has a lot of info. Find other people with similar roles on LinkedIn and message them for advice.

Meet with your compliance officers at your company and get their guidance. It’s different for each industry. I was in compliance in banking for a short time and the changes and requirements changed all the time. Cozy up to the experts at your company and they will guide you.

We use NAAC for certification training but we are not in the hospital setting, we are in the transport and emergency care setting. However, there are healthcare training sites similar to that on line you can go to for training. Your HR department or compliance office should be able to provide you with direction and you can research your own CMS on line also. There are several reliable sites that can make you a better employee, don't be afraid to ask and take initiative. Good luck!
