I'm a CHRO with 16+ years of experience looking to make a move. I climbed the ladder and was the first person to hold the position at my company, so I've neither searched nor recruited for this kind of role before. I'm now looking to change employers. What are some executive search firms, executive job boards, etc that you've had success with? I've started looking on LinkedIn but am hoping to find something geared towards C-suite level or equivalent positions. Thank you in advance!

I believe it stands for Chief Human Resources Officer.

I know someone with many years executive retained search experience - please send me a message if you'd like me to refer you.

It seems like you missed the point (and the details) of this post...

Since you don't seem to be aware of this fact, let me point out to you that Human Resources and Talent Acquisition are not the same thing.

Executive recruiter here! Many jobs at the C-suite level are not the kinds of jobs that are posted on job forums. Companies often use executive search firms to find passive candidates to bring into these roles. Search firms work for the companies, not the candidates, but I would also reach out to some reputable firms in your area to submit your resume or get connected to a firm that specializes in HR or C-suite level roles.

I have been in HR for about 15 years now. My resume writing skills still suck as do my interviewee skills (I hate talking about myself, especially talking myself up). Given that the OP has been with the same company for over 16 years...a lot has changed in the resume/recruiting/interviewing world during that time if you are not directly in it. And no, HR doesn't necessarily manage employees (at least not outside of the HR function).
