UPDATE to: "I am on the job hunt and feeling desperate pressure to accept the next offer because I'm out of money, but don't want to trap myself."
I start a new position on Monday!
Shortly after this post, I did a virtual interview with a different company, went in to see their office the same day, got the verbal offer on the spot, then accepted the written offer the next day. They even offered higher salary than I requested.
I feel very lucky and blessed, and relieved. My husband and I still have to work out some logistics, but this company aligns much better with our lives and my career goals, and as a bonus I would be working with a former manager that I loved (who definitely helped put me over the edge).
I politely declined the offer from the original company, as well as another offer I received shortly after accepting this one, asking to keep the lines of communication open with both.
Thanks everyone who responded, all of your advice was incredibly helpful and insightful. It's been a stressful journey, I am so happy to have made it to this point. Cheers, and good luck to anyone else riding this job search Rollercoaster!
