At a previous position- My hours, though they were heavily discussed with the head of the company, were never adjusted in a way that was fair nor reasonable. The company itself had been entirely remote at first, promising reasonable hours, and work / life balance, until an office was rented deep into the downtown of a busy city. This required employees to compensate for the change. While this was not the total issue- it became one when only in passing by my desk would the CEO state "I'm changing your hours for X(male employee) because he needs different hours." This would occur with no prior discussion, or with no opinions from me changing anything at all. It was truly that these conversations never occurred in an official capacity that made it unprofessional, and straight up rude. Passing by someone's desk and declaring changes to their already desperately different schedule is something that should not happen, Period.
