Transitioning from social services to private sector.

Transitioning from social services to private sector.

I am a social services professional (child welfare, specifically) of 12 years and I am trying to transition to the private sector. For many reasons that you'd assume- low pay, bogged down bureaucracy, little room for growth- it is time for me to leave this sector. I do not have professional licensure (MSW, LPC, etc.) but I do have a master's degree. I have experience with community engagement, training, policy development and analysis, as well as some project management.

Tips and tricks for breaking out of the social services/public sector or stories about others who have navigated this kind of transition would be greatly appreciated!
