I have a situation at work were my boss is having an affair with another employee on our team. Everyone knows but no one says anything in fear of retaliation. They are both married with children. I don't condone that type of behavior but that is not my business. However, my issue is that because of the affair he is cannot manage fairly and affectively. No on is invited to important meetings or events that affect the business and team members cannot effectively do their job because of my bosses affair. If "she" (the team member) feels threatened in any way she will have my boss shut everything down. My boss does not seem to have the company's best interests at hand...he has his own interests at the forefront. My job is to manage the company but I cannot do my job because he wants to make sure that it is just the two of them at all times. He treats us with absolutely no respect and anytime we suggest new and creative things to grow the business he shuts it down by saying "she" will take care of it. Now the business is suffering tremendously. Then he tries to demean and shame others. His narcissistic behavior is out of hand and we just want to do our jobs. It is been said that going to HR is useless because HR only has the company's best interests at hand...not the employees. We are all under the impression to NEVER go to HR because they protect all manager and upper management.
